Now that Sepp Blatter is stepping down there are some fundamental questions that need to be answered:
Most sponsors have said its good that Blatter is stepping down. But he isn’t for 6 months, are sponsors potentially putting their necks out there on the line unnecessarily right now?
Is the game/sport too big for that to happen?
FIFA sponsors had put pressure on Blatter to resign. Do you think that it had any influence on Blatter’s decision?
Investigations currently on-going (in Switzerland, possibly US) on how 2018/2022 games were awarded. If it is found that those games were awarded nefariously – how do you think sponsors will react?
What will or should it take for some sponsors to completely cut ties with FIFA?
